On 01st September 2016 , the department of Humera Khan Institute of Management Studies and Research had organized a 2 day Industrial Visit for Eighty Five students of both first and second year MMS batch and PGDBM batch (IInd year) who were accompanied by six of the faculty members of the department. The basic objective behind the industry visit was to bestow an excellent and sterling opportunity to interact and procured practical knowledge about the industry. Also, to explore various culture, practices and people with respect to different industries.. The visit was to the ABB, Mahindra plant, Sula vines situated in Igatpuri and Nashik area.

The visit started in the early hours of a working day Ac Luxury bus as mode of transport. Nashik- well known city located in Maharashtra where the first industry was located, it was Asia Brown Boveri (ABB) Pvt ltd, The group was taken to the training hall first and foremost as soon as reaching the plant. Within the industry premises the HR manager took charge and had taken the group to the plant around noon and briefed them up with the introduction about the plant as well as the number of production lines. ABB is Regarded As One Of The Top Switch Gear Maker In India .The Competitors Are L&T (Larsen & Toubro) Seimens AG , Schneider Electric (S.E).It has world wide manufacturing monopoly .Fully automatic machine are used for manufacture of panel switch gear. The operator also mentioned about each and every activity happening in the plant . He also answered the queries of the students regarding marketing and manufacturing.The plant is fully automated. Students were amazed at the speed at which the process occurred and how the automated systems could work according to the requirements. The manufacturing process adopted by them is batch process. The visit concluded by the afternoon. The company is renowned for ensuring high quality manufacturing standards. The students were extremely ecstatic as the visit was a good learning exposure for them.The industrial visit to ABB was an enriching experience for students in getting live exposure of manufacturing which can help them in their internships and further career enhancements.

After the industry visit, students proceeded to the Hotel Meusus Jupiter(4star) hotel, where they had their lunch and proceeded for visit another industry visit which was Sula wines.

Surrounded with greenary and beautiful Farms Of Grapes was around the Wine Yard .Mr. INDER SINGH (a representative of Sula wines) briefed them about manufacturing of wine of different flavour , colour and test. They manufacture 3 Types Of Wines:- Red Wine, White Wine, Rose Wine. According to them, Red Wine takes 7-8 months to manufacture, White Wine takes 3-4 Months to manufacture. They Have 120 Containers With Capacity Of Min 25000ltrs – max 90000ltrs. The Containers Have A Temperature Of -4 Degree Celsius. Wine Is Stored At 18 Degree Celsius. Wine Can Be Stored For Ages. They Do Not Use Rose Petals, Rose Seeds in the manufacturing Of Rose Wine. They use Rose Petals for fermentation and fertilizers and rose seeds for oil. Sula Wines export 20% of its total Products. The winery and vineyards are open to the public for educational tours, and the beautiful Tasting Room invites visitors to enjoy their favourite Sula wines amidst spectacular views of the vineyards and surrounding lakes and hills. The nearby Sula amphitheatre is an impressive location for events and social gathering. .Its Major Markets Are Switzerland, Malaysia , Japan , Belgium, Italy, France. After that, they were taken for a visit to the famous temple of Nashik-” Mukhti Dham”. Students thoroughly experienced peace and also enjoyed shopping in nearby market. Later then, they came back to hotel and had sumputuos dinner with DJ night.

On the second day of the tour, after having lunch, all proceeded for third industrial visit that was “Mahindra”, a well known brand in Automobile Industry . The Manufacturing Plant is situated In Igatpuri .It manufactures the engine’s for cars like Bolero, Xylo , Scorpio And Xuv’s .Mahindra has automatic censor machine with advance technology & they follow Kaizen technique at their Plant . The Engines manufactured are tested on 32 parameters to ensure that there is no fault in engine & quality product are produces for Customer.The Plant manufactures 200 motors in 8 hrs.
The industrial visit to ABB, Mahindra and Sula wines was an enriching experience for students in getting live exposure of manufacturing and marketing which could help them in their internships and further executive placements.An interaction, working methods and employment practices provided them an idea on how activities in industries are conducted. Moreover, it gave an exposure from academic point of view too.
