Anti Drug Awareness Campaign
As part of a social responsibility initiative, the H.K Institute of Management Studies and Research conducted a drug awareness campaign. Mr. Vaibhav Salunkhe, PSI from the Oshiwara police station was invited as a guest in order to raise awareness of the negative repercussions of drug use in society. In his motivational address, Mr. Vaibhav Salunkhe stated that 10 suicides involving drug usage occur in India each day. The central government’s report, he added, showed that most young people are exposed to messages about drug and alcohol prevention through media like TV, radio, posters, pamphlets, movie advertisements, and campaigns like this. Additionally, the report’s in-depth examination revealed that individuals who have been exposed to such messages have a considerably lower likelihood of abusing drugs.
The Indian government is making every attempt to prevent youngsters from using drugs through the National Youth Anti-Drug Media Campaign and their national anti-drug policies, especially for those making the challenging transition from high school to college. He claimed that young people are the driving force behind our country and that this drive needs to be channeled positively to promote joyful, healthy, and moral life. According to the guiding principle, youths can only save themselves by organizing numerous events to spread anti-drug messages and have a substantial social impact. In the last two years, he claimed, the government has taken all necessary steps to raise public awareness of alcohol and drug prevention messaging through TV, radio, posters, booklets, and movie advertisements. The session ended with a Q& and a brief discussion between the speaker and students addressing some of the challenges and needs of awareness at present.
