ethos, the Annual Management Conclave and Cultural Utsaav was organised by students of H.K. Institute of Management Studies & Research (HKIMSR), Oshiwara, Mumbai on Jan 30 | Jan 31 | Feb 01, 2014 at H.K. Campus in Jogeshwari (W), adjacent to Andheri (W) Lokhanwala. The fifth edition, ethos 2014, witnessed a congregation of close to 7000 students and support from 52 corporate sponsors.
Students from close to 60 colleges in Mumbai participated in various management games, including Quiz, mock-stock, debate, spontaneous writing, etc. – also, LAN games, outdoor games, fashion shows, singing and dancing competitions and many other interesting games.
Each year students of HKIMSR under the guidance of their mentor Prof. Tamojit Ghosh Roy support a social cause during ethos. This year students decided to extend support to CARF’s awareness building campaign during ethos 2014. CARF – Cancer Aid & Research Foundation is an NGO dedicated to support the ailing cancer patients, irrespective of their age, caste, creed and colour. The second day evening was dedicated to the presentations by CARF beneficiaries. Young children, who are in the recovery phase from the dreaded disease, made heart-warming dances on Bollywood numbers. A ramp-walking was choreographed for the children supported by CARF. The little children were enthralled to walk on the ramp with professional choreographer and the students of HKIMSR. This social event was supported by Indian Oil Corporation and felicitation of these young children was done by two senior officials from IOC, Mr. Dilip Hari, DGM –HR, and Ms. Sabitha Natraj, Sr. Communications Manager.
A fresh new ‘colour’ was added to the fifth edition of augmented academic endeavour at HKIMSR called ethos. The fifth edition included Run for a Cause on Feb 01, 2014 – a 3 km run dedicated to the noble cause of supporting CARF. The student volunteers donned CARF gears through the running track. Supported by HyperCITY, Spykar and over 50 other leading corporations in Mumbai city, the Run for a Cause was flagged-off by Honourable Shri Aslam Shaikh, MLA and Councillor on Feb 01, 2014 (7.00 am) from HyperCITY Malad concluding at H K Campus.
The event witnessed the presence of celebrities and dignitaries like Feroze Khan, the famous choreographer and his dancing prodigy Vicki Das from Dance India Dance (dance show on Zee TV); Samantha Fernandes and Nilesh Macedona from Dil, Dosti, Dance (youth show on Channel V); celebrity actor and Big Boss fame, Ajaz Khan; Chandni and Nishad Vaidya, the popular cine-couple from Amita Ka Amit.
Hopefully, the three day extravaganza at ethos 2014 added strokes of colors to the life of children supported by Cancer Aid & Research Foundation.
