Team Leadership & Personality Development
Harnessing your potential to evolve as a Team Leader, the approach is rigorous, enthralling and comprehensive…..
In 2009, ethos as an Annual Management Conclave and Cultural Utsaav was conceptualized by the students of H.K. Institute of Management Studies & Research (HKIMSR). Mentored by Prof. Tamojit Ghosh Roy since inception, who is also the basic idea incubator; ethos functions as a Practical Training Module on Team Leadership and Personality Development for the students of HKIMSR and one of most popular student activities in Mumbai.
Conceptualized under the Team Leadership and Personality Development (TLPD) programme, the entire management of this massive 4-day Management Conclave titled ethos – right from concept building to planning to actual conduct – is the responsibility of our students. What germinates is a flawless conduct, a learning opportunity for student organizers and evolution of team leaders, ready to create pugmarks on their career trail.
ethos is an inter-collegiate management conclave and cultural festival organised by the students of HKIMSR. It is a confluence of strategic brains of the future – a knowledge sharing platform, where dynamic management students are invited to exchange learning concepts, practical orientations and their thought processes. Ethos offers intellectual simulations that promise to map attitude and aptitude level of the potential corporate leaders and help them sharpen their axe accordingly. The management games offer opportunity for brilliant minds to exhibit their conceptual clarity, leadership logic, spontaneity, creativity and power to anticipate the future during their journey to emerge as REAL-WINNERS. And, the outdoor games help to unravel the hidden talents of our future leaders. The strategy behind the programme architecture is simple, to bridge the ‘Knowing-Doing Gap,’ and raise the Employability Quotient of the Next Gen leaders.
#1st ever B-School in India to formalize Team Leadership and Personality Development as an Activity-based evaluation
I can say without any hesitation whatsoever that apart from it being one of the biggest and most memorable experiences of my life, ethos has had a massive transformative role to play in my evolution both in the personal as well as professional capacity. Thanks to the sheer plethora of multi-layered aspects that it encompassed. It perfectly complemented the literary exposure that one got and gave me a tremendous boost of confidence to take on the corporate world.

Ethos 2013 Theme: Nurturing Socially Responsible Managers
Students of HKIMSR successfully organised the fourth edition of ethos—the Annual Management Conclave and cultural festival from 10-13 January, 2013 at H K Campus. Unlike in previous edition of ethos, an additional day was dedicated to Adventure Games, christened as – Adventos.
Adventos – a series of Adventure Sports and challenging activities – offered launch pad for the participating students to discover the power of self-esteem and self-confidence within. The nature of games was meant to strengthen mental toughness and resilience that are vital for survival in the fiercely competitive corporate world.
ethos 2013 attempted inclusions of several such new ideas and was completely different from the previous editions. The participation was widened to include undergraduates, thus, making the wannabe managers experience the enigma of management confluences.
The batch of 2011-2013, under the mentorship of Prof. Tamojit Ghosh Roy, founder of ethos, ensured that number of participants and sponsors exceeds the previous year’s participation and corporate sponsorship. The broad theme of ethos 2013 was ‘nurturing socially responsible managers’ and therefore, included dedicated initiatives to align social theme to the framework of management conclave.
3 MISSION POSSIBLES were our avante garde’.
Nirbhaya–signing campaign initiated towards creating a mindset among youth to respect women – it’s our moral responsibility. The barbaric incidents of gang-rapes have shaken the moral foundations of India and cast a pall of gloom over the entire nation. This has raised huge doubts about the ability of our judiciary system in providing a safe environment for women in the country. Post-Nirbhaya incident, it has bec0me imperative for each one of us to work towards creating a mindset among people to respect women. More than 1000 students took pledge with lighted candles to personally treat all women at home and elsewhere with respect and intervene in whatever way they can when they see a woman being harassed; verbally or by deeds. Amazing symphony of thoughts and deeds!
Specially-abled people – an aids and equipment distribution camp was organised for specially-abled people. The initiative was supported by Maharashtra State Handicapped Financial Development Corporation (MSHFDC) and leading NGOs in Mumbai. The function was presided by Honourable Shri Suhas Kaleji, Managing Director, MSHFDC and Honourable Shri Dinkar Tawdeji, General Secretary, NCP (National Congress Party), who distributed the wheel chairs, blind-sticks and many other such aids and equipment to not so privileged people.
Performances by Underprivileged Children – Special performances of underprivileged children were staged during ethos 2013. Most of the performances were choreographed by our students who worked with the under-privileged children for over a fortnight for their preparation. The show stopper was a six years old girl of a Bangladeshi migrant staying in a chawl in Oshiwara, who tapped on a seductive number from Hindi movie. The heart stealing performance was from the hearing impaired children from school founded by Shree Bhairav Seva Samiti, Bhiwandi.
The conclave included exciting management contests and simulated games like Mock Stock,Stakes and Ladders, Business Plan Contest, Ad MadShow, Debates, Extempore, etc. The catch of the fourth edition was launch of BIG BOSS, which was a runaway hit among participants.
ethos 2013 recorded participation of maximum number of student teams in box-cricket championship for the HKIMSR trophy. Over 250 teams fought for the trophy in midst of thousands and thousands of students. The outdoor games included street football where a team of African students, made a rare exhibition of controlled football.
The conclave encompassed various endearing programmes like, The Film Acting Workshop, Street Theatre competition on status of women in India.
