Report on Freshers Hiring Secrets

Mr.Elliot Rosenberg was invited for an interactive session with students on Freshers Hiring Secrets on 24th September,2022 10:30-12:30pm. The main idea behind the session was to make the students aware about the importance of on-campus placements for the freshers. He shared his personal experiences with the corporate world with a smart way of tackling problems, his experience of getting into different departments, and also explained how to build the core competencies he also emphasized that the employ ability of the country’s youth has undergone a value driven change over the past few years. A lot of this is attributed to the alliance between employers, academia and industry,” he stated. As a new session begins a number of job vacancies are led out by companies. Each job role advertised demands a certain level of educational qualification and skill sets. Mostly graduates do go ahead and work while some continue further studies. Sometimes the companies that go for on-campus placements do hire a large number of freshers. But, problem arises when a graduate or a postgraduate or anyone with any level of education applies for a job for the first time off-campus. Most of the organizations look for work experience even for entry level positions. It can’t be denied that the people with more number of years of experience are definitely more worthy depending on the post and the level of expertise that is demanded but, if you don’t at all hire a fresher from where will she/he garner the work experience at all. He gave few tips to keep in mind and practise before hiring freshers and recruiting talent on campus
1. Keep abreast with the latest technology
2. Make an action plan.
3. Remember on the pre-placement talk, first impression goes a long way
4. Bring out the big guns for locking in the best candidates before the pre placement talks
5. Work hard, get creative and improvise on your brand presence in colleges
6. Be innovative to land candidates who innovates
7. Develop the capability of recruiting remotely. This is crucial!
8. Take help to filter candidates using online assessment tools
9. Sell work-life balance every chance you get.
10. Show that for you, Career development matters.
He further concluded the session by saying Freshers are the leaders of tomorrow. It is true that not all of them possess the skill set that you desire, but it would be wrong to say that they will be of no value. How about learning from them? Know them and understand them. Do they have some skills which you have never heard of? Why not incorporate those skills in your work by designing a new position for the same? You maybe the first organization out there in doing so and that will work in your favour. Thus, nurture these talents and recruit them for a fresh vibe in your company.
